Behind the Expertise: In Her Own Words
An insight into your dietitian’s personal journey, passion, and dedication to clinical practice.
What motivates you most about being a dietitian?
My passion for nutrition started early, when my father was diagnosed with cancer. I was still a student then, and every time he came home from hospital visits with nutrition leaflets, my mother would bring me a copy because she noticed how interested I was. Even back then, I became deeply aware that food might play a role in prevention and healing. That early curiosity inspired me to focus on biology and nutrition in school, and eventually pursue a degree in Clinical Dietetics, driven by a desire to explore nutrition beyond the usual focus on weight loss or gain.
As a teenager, I became aware of how challenging diet culture could be. At school, there was constant pressure and competition around who could eat less or be thinner. Extreme dieting and disordered eating were often unrealistically promoted, without fully understanding their impact. Later, during my studies, I realized that the more I learned, the clearer it became how many misconceptions surround nutrition, and how important accurate information truly is. This realization sparked a deep motivation in me to raise awareness and educate others.
I’m determined to be a voice of clarity in a world where anyone can share nutritional advice without credentials. I believe everyone deserves access to accurate, science-based information that helps them build a healthy relationship with food. My mission is to empower people to understand and trust their bodies, eat with confidence, and make informed choices.
How would you describe your approach with clients?
I believe the key to helping someone truly thrive with nutrition is to start by really understanding where they’re coming from. Before I offer any advice, I take time to listen, not just to what they know about food, but also about their past diet experiences, medical history, what matters most to them, and their personal goals. Everyone’s journey is different, so I tailor my advice to fit their unique health and lifestyle.
I know how frustrating it can be to feel overwhelmed by diets that don’t work or to carry guilt around eating. That’s why I approach every client with kindness, patience, and zero judgment. I want them to feel safe and supported, like they’re talking to a friend who genuinely cares. Together, we focus on practical, balanced steps that build confidence and help them trust their bodies. My goal is to empower people, not just with knowledge, but with the tools and encouragement they need to make lasting, positive changes.
What results or changes do you most love to see in your clients?
I love witnessing when my clients realize their own transformation, and seeing them build a confident, healthy relationship with food. It’s incredibly rewarding to support them as they feel more confident and clear, learning about nutrition and enjoying the foods they love while knowing how to balance their overall intake. For me, it’s never just about physical changes; it’s about supporting their long-term mental and emotional well-being and being part of their journey to becoming the best version of themselves, inside and out.
What inspired you to specialise in digestive health?
During university, a close friend’s experience with gastric reflux made me realise that nutrition often wasn’t taken as seriously in treatment as medication was. While medication provided immediate relief by numbing symptoms, it didn’t treat the root cause or offer protection against long-term complications. And realizing how many people lacked knowledge and clear guidance on the importance of nutrition in prevention and treatment inspired me to raise awareness and support better digestive health for everyone, and so with a sense of responsibility, I chose to focus my internship on gastrointestinal nutrition. My time in the gastrointestinal section of the hospital also exposed me to other common digestive issues like IBS, bloating, constipation, and intolerances, conditions that are often treated with medication that only masks symptoms. Clients are left thinking the issue is solved and that no dietary changes are needed, when in fact, nutrition is often key to addressing root causes and finding long-term relief, alongside medication, of course, as we always work on such cases in coordination with the treating physician. When I first explained the reflux diet and the importance of mindful eating, my friend naturally felt overwhelmed. I truly understood, it’s much easier said than done, with so many restrictions and habits to reconsider. I wanted to make it easier, so I created simple, clear resources including an article and a video series that explain the causes, risks, helpful diet tips, and how to enjoy meals at home or out. Now, one of my favourite quotes, which I often share with clients making lifestyle changes, is:
“Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels.”
What are some of the biggest challenges people face with weight management, and how do you help clients overcome them?
One of the biggest challenges people face with weight management is navigating the many misconceptions and mixed messages around nutrition. From fad diets to the frustrating cycle of losing and regaining weight, it’s easy to feel confused and stuck—wondering why all the effort isn’t bringing the results they want. I know how overwhelming this can be, especially with so much conflicting advice online. I also see how influencers with large followings sometimes share misleading tips, and many assume popularity means credibility, which can lead people further off track. To help clients overcome these challenges, my approach is rooted in empathy and education. I focus on clearing up misunderstandings, raising awareness, and providing simple, evidence-based strategies that support sustainable, long-term results. Ultimately, I want to empower clients not just to reach a stable weight but also to build a healthy, positive relationship with food and their bodies.
What sets you apart from other dietitians?
What clients often say sets me apart is my mix of empathy, scientific understanding, and genuine care. I’ve always been passionate about using my knowledge to make a real difference, whether that’s through volunteering or offering support to those who couldn’t otherwise access it. To me, health should never be a privilege.
I’m also very intentional about the information I share. Before giving advice or posting online, I take time to research carefully and make sure everything is grounded in the latest science. There’s so much confusing nutrition advice out there, and I want to be a voice people can actually trust.
What inspired you to explore other fields like luxury brand management, digital marketing, and acting, and how do these experiences influence your work today?
I’ve always loved learning and trying new things that help me grow. My path hasn’t been traditional, yet every step has shaped who I am today—a unique person with a character beyond my title. Along the way, I’ve explored different fields that feed my curiosity and creativity, enriching me with a wide range of experiences, all of which have helped me become the credible, well-known dietitian I am today.
Life often surprises us with moments that change our path in meaningful ways. When I first arrived in London to study Human Nutrition at London Metropolitan University, I was honoured to be chosen as the face of our university’s campaign. Seeing my picture on buses, billboards, and even around campus felt surreal and honestly, extremely magical.
That was when I made my first attempt to shoot an educational video and share it on my Instagram page. But I was still shy and not very confident. Once life returned to normal, taking acting classes became one of my top priorities. Not only did I enjoy it very much, but it also raised my confidence, helped me express myself more, and improved my public speaking skills. I still train in acting today and take on occasional roles, it’s something I enjoy and that has become part of who I am.
There’s a saying that the more I learn, the more I realize how much I don’t know, and I relate to that deeply. I felt confident in my scientific knowledge, but I wanted to learn how to manage my own business instead of hiring someone else. After all, who knows what’s best for me better than me? At that time, life in Lebanon became unpredictable, so I made my way back to London and began pursuing an MBA in Luxury Brand Management at GCU London, British School of Fashion. While studying, I worked on contracts with high-end luxury names like Harrods, Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Chanel, Bulgari, and Selfridges. This taught me a deep appreciation for detail, quality, and what it truly means to offer an elevated client experience.
Each of these experiences, whether marketing, acting, or working in luxury, has enriched my character and my clinical practice. I’ve learned to educate, connect, and care in ways that are grounded not only in science but also in elegance, warmth, clarity, and trust.
